Warhammer Vermintide 2 will not be using the Denuvo anti-tamper tech

A couple of days ago, we interviewed Rikard Blomberg, CTO and co-founder Fatshark, who revealed to us that Warhammer Vermintide 2 will not be using the Denuvo anti-tamper tech. As Rikard said, Fatshark its community is a key part of its game development philosophy. As such, Denuvo could very well be counter productive to this philosophy. Here is what Rikard had to say about the Denuvo anti-tamper tech and whether Warhammer Vermintide 2 would be using:

“No. Working together with our players to create the best game we can is a key part of our game development philosophy; be it through listening to community feedback, encouraging player-player interaction, doing what we can to encourage modding or by having a non-paywall DLC policy. As long as we provide a good experience and open communication to our players, we believe they will stay loyal and support us in giving them more. Denuvo would be redundant and even go so far as be counter productive to this philosophy.”

Our interview with Rikard will go live this weekend so stay tuned as we’ve talked about a lot of technical things, including the game’s enhanced lighting system, physically-based rendering, support for multiple CPU cores, the differences between DX12 and DX11 and more.
