කොච්චර වුනත් අපේ සමාජයේ ප්‍රචන්ඩත්වය තියෙනවා,කොළඹ විශ්වවිද්‍යාලයේ ඉඳන් විද්‍යා පීඨ,තාක්ෂණික විද්‍යාල දක්වාම,අනිත් අයට රිද්දලා,සතුටු වෙන්න බලන්නෙ,වචිකව හරි මානසිකව හරි,උඹ කියන ගුරුවරු ඔක්කොම සුද්දග‍ෙ කාලේ බිහිවුණු අය,එතැනින් පස්සෙ ඒ පරම්පරාව ඉවරයි.දැන් ඉන්නේ අර පරපීඩිත අදහස් තියෙන ගුරු,උන් ළමයිට දඬුවම් කරන්නේ ළමයි හදන්න නෙමෙයි.

දැන් නම් ගුරුවරු නෙමෙයි ඉන්නේ. මානසික ලෙඩ්ඩු.. රජයේ ඉස්කොලා වලට ගියාම දුකයි ළමයි දැක්කම. සමහර ලොකු ඉස්කොලා වල ගුරුවරුන්ට දෙන තෑගි අනුව තමා ෆෙවර් එක. සමහර උන් සාරි, ෆෝන්, ටැබ් ඉදන් ඉඩම් ගෙවල් පවා දෙනවා. වෙන මොකටවත් නෙමෙයි දරුවාට ඉස්පෙෂල් අටෙන්ෂන් ගන්න. සමහර ගුරුවරු ටිටුෂන් එන ළමයට ඉස්කෝලෙදි වැඩි ෆෙවර්. මේ ලදී මගේ යාලුවෙක් ගේ පොඩි එකෙක් කිව්වා ඔය කතාව. ඉස්කොලා ටිඉචර් ලග පොඩි එක හවසට ක්ලාස් යනවා. පහුවෙනිදා පාඩම ටීචර් උට ඊට කලින් දා කරනවා. පහුවෙනිදා ඉස්කෝලේ උට වඩා විෂය දන්නා එකෙක් නැ.

අපේ කාලේ උන්ගේ වැරැද්ද නෙමෙයි බන්. හතු පිපෙන සම්පලේට ඉස්කොලා හදලා ඒවාට 8 පාස් උන උනුත් ගුරුවරු හැටියට ගත්තු එකයි අවුල. හාර්ඩි, ගුරු විද්‍යාල කැලේට දාලා විද්‍යා පීට වලින් පිස්සෝ වගේ ගුරුවරු ඉම්පෝට් කරන්න ගිහින් තමා කෙලවෙලා තියෙන්නේ. කොලිටි වලට වඩා කොන්ටිටි ඕනා කියලා හිතපු නායකයෝ නිසා තමා නුසුදුසු උන් ගුරු වෘතියට බැස්සේ පඩියට.

ජොබ් එක ස්ථිර වුනාට පස්සේ අවුරුද්දක් ගානේ එවලුවෙට් කලානම් හරි. ලංකාවේ ගවර්මන්ට් ජොබ් වල එහෙම කරන්නේ නැහැ.

අපි ගමු 1 වසර පන්තියක්. ලංකාවේ රජයේ පාසලක, පන්තියක ළමයි 38-40 ඉන්නවා. එක ටීචර් කෙනයි ඉන්නේ. එක එක වර්ගයේ ළමයි එනවා. අහිංසක වගේම කොලු තාත්තලත් එනවා. අර අහිංසක සහ සාමාන්‍ය ළමයි ටික විනාශකාරී අස්වාභාවික විදියට දඟලන ළමයි ටිකෙන් බෙර ගන්න එයාලට ශාරීරික දඬුවම් කලාට කමක් නැහැ.

නමුත් ඉගෙනගැනීම සම්බන්ධ කටයුතු වලදී ගහල උගන්වනවට මම කැමති නැහැ. ඒක අසාර්ථකයි. නමුත් ඩිසිප්ලින් හදා ගන්න දඬුවම් කලාට කමක් නැහැ කියලයි මගේ හැගීම. .

Your language shows that if you had been disciplined properly then you wouldn't have used obscene language to discuss something in a public forum. Personal attacks on people who don't agree with you is a clear display of ignorance. All the more reason why you should have been disciplined at school

But I will repeat: School is where a child spends a large part of his life and he should learn to become a good citizen there. Learning to become a good citizen needs an all round education which includes values and discipline. Looking at your language I see that you must seriously consider giving your child a good education at a school so that he won't turn up like you: a guy who thinks he knows all but in reality doesn't know how to talk.

I am not sure whether teachers should punish students physically or not. But I salute my maths teacher (Mr Kumarasingha, we call him THUNDER, because his slaps hit us like thunder) in Royal Junior School in 1975. I along with most students in 9A class (1975) end up having a distinction for maths, due to the fear of his harsh punishments. I know as a fact we (our class) had the best results for maths.
