Dont think im arguing, just trying to clarify.
The thing is when you ask for a bank statement, the bank will issue a statement including liabilities. I got my bank statement from Sampath bank. When i was asking for bank statement they checked my account and said that my Credit card arrears will appear on the statement. SO i cleared all debts on my credit card before that. Same thing was told by HNB bank.
The point is Canadian Government want you to have enough money until you settle down. In that case, if your bank statement mention any liabilities it will contrary with actual necessity for giving a bank statement.
It is the proof that you own the money and you don't have to spend it on anything else.
Anyone can say it doesn't matter to mention liabilities in the statement. But what do you think the immigration officer will think? I'm not willing to take that risk. that's why I cleared all my debts.
Open to discussion....
