    The Skinny -

    We thought that we should give the song “Yalpaname” a visual treatment that will present a way to bridge the North & the East, highlighting another meaning of peace.
    At the start, Bathiya and Santhush told us that they want to have a different idea & concept than having Singhalese & Tamils holding hands and singing – “We are friends”.

    We had already done a few music videos that had brought out the hidden meaning of the song in a very different way but still staying with the song. One of which for example was – “Rambari-Lahiru Perera”. The exceptional concept was highlighting the mismatch in a perfect world.

    The Production –

    Keeping to the main point, that Hariharan‘s visit to Sri Lanka is highlighted in a magazine and the articles that appear alongside this.
    The idea was to start with Hariharan and Randhir creating an Artistes good first impression. When Randhir starts to rap the visuals are Black & white and the color section
    are the girl and the yellow stripes. When Bathiya and Santhush enter the scene, buildings come up from the ground.

    The Post –
    Our biggest problem was the deadline given. Within 10 days of the shoot the product had to be delivered. Our situation was the importance of dedicated working on advance graphics, VFX and matte paintings. We explained the situation to Bathiya and Santhush and also showed them the advantages to the video, in bringing these elements in. They understood the enhancement and benefits their video would have and gave us 30 days as asked for. We are very thankful to them for that.

    Editing & VFX-

    The Director discussed with the effects and editing team, the look and special requirements.
    Top priority was the need of catching the audience with a good first impression. Since there were cameras movements it was a special requirement to do efficient and creative rotoscoping at various scenes. Where the scenes were masked, colored and manipulated frame by frame.

    ගොඩක් VFX අර්ටිස්ලට වරදින තැන 2 තමයි
    1) තමන් කරන වැඩේට ගන්න ඕනි පේමන්ට් එක දන්නේ නැහැ (එක්කෝ අස්ප ගානක් කියනවා නැත්නම කුණු කොල්ලෙට කරනවා )

    2) අනික ඩෙඩ් ලියින් එකක් කියන එක ගැන අදහසක් ඇත්තෙම නැහැ. (අනිද්දා දෙන්නම් කීවට පස්සේ තමයි මතක් වෙන්නේ දැන් කොරකොර ඉන්න ප්‍රෝජෙක්ට් එක්ක දෙන්න වෙන්නේ දවස් 7 පස්සේ කියල. ඊට පස්සේ කොච්චර ටැලන්ට් පොරක් උනත් අපේ රටේ ජම්ම පුරුද්ද මතු වෙන්ව පෝං අන්සර් කොරන්නේ නැහැ ) කල්යන්ට් කියනවනම් දවස් 3 දෙන්න කියල , තියන වැඩ බලල ඩෙඩ් ලයින් එකක් යවන්න. හැබැයි කියපු දවසට බාර දෙන්න (තනි වචනේ මිනිහෙක් වෙන්න )
