    23K. Does it has backlight bleeding issue? And I saw some comments saying that the pictures look grainy because of the thick AG coating. Is it true? :confused:

    People complain that even the Asus ROG PG279Q which is a high end monitor has some minor BLB (backlight bleeding) issues.

    There are two common problems with modern monitors.
    One is the IPS Glow and the other is the BLB.
    IPS Glow is present in the corners and BLB usually appears along the edges of a monitor. Most visible when viewing dark images in a darker environment.
    The amount of the IPS Glow depends on viewing angles, the ambient light, monitor brightness settings etc.
    Also BLB does not change when viewing at an off angle.
    The IPS Glow cannot be eliminated because it's a technology related phenomenon.
    Usually if there's unacceptable BLB then the vendors will replace it.
    BLB usually is caused by improper placement of the panel or when the panel frame construction causes too much pressure on the display - so it can vary from one monitor to the other - depending on the construction quality.

    As for your question about the graininess I was using this on a KVM switch to connect four RedHat servers running in text mode. Bought it because it had a VGA port, very light and slim, low cost - wasn't really interested in graphics.
    Otherwise my preference is for Dell, Samsung or LG.

    Only thing you could do is to test and buy. If you are not happy then go for another. Hope this helps.

    vz249 compared to dell 2417h, both are around the same price but 2417h has a better build quality. unlike vz249, 2417h has no (less noticeable) BLB. my vz249 had pretty high BLB from 3 points. my advice also to get a dell samsung or lg. i think this is valid for vz229 also

    in order to test BLB you have to turn on the monitor in a dark room, which we cannot test in the shops :(:(:(

    Actually I'm concerned about the picture quality and sharpness. Wouldn't worry about some little blb if it's not bothering me.Thank you BTW! I'm considering buying a dell monitor instead.
