Elephant in a perahara means we celebrate the suffering of it as the whole nation.

Natural causes and murders like this case is up to officials to solve, social organizations can't do anything about it..

Ok. So the point you make is elephants being involved in something that people celebrate is worse compared to elephants being hunted?

So how did you define what officials should do and what social organizations should do? Are social organizations given the authority to ban the use of animals for religious tasks like how law prohibits hunting elephants? If social organizations are capable of acting against animals being used in temples, what prevents them from acting against animals being hunted in the jungle?

There is, of course, a difference in elephants being held at temples and mass murdering elephants in the jungle.

The government or those animals NGOs should put a higher priority on preventing elephants from being hunted and killed for various reasons since it poses a higher risk of them being extinct.

Whats funny is how people have concluded that using those animals for a celebration that happens once per year poses a bigger threat to elephants than them being hunted in bulk by villagers, or keeping them captive and using them to do heavy work or to entertain foreigners on a day-to-day basis.​

of course they don't have an authority.. that's why they plead for the government to take an action.
