society decides what is good and what is bad. a society that doesn't value being over not being would see abortion as a good thing. the fetus isn't aware of its existence anyway. better to kill it in the womb before it starts questioning the purpose if its existence and free it of the awaiting misery.

so u think the society which the person who commit abortion belongs to, plays a part in manifesting the level of karma ? Or your argument was purely based on the philosophical context?

i think so. if i remember correctly buddhism gives some weight to society and its beliefs when discerning whether a feeling is a result of good karma or bad karma.

but u can do it with a good intention. we already know all forms of existence is bad. u can do the surgery with an intention of preventing those beings from being born.

Dont mess good intention with karmic results.result can be vary.Lets say your mother is ill.You can kill her to stop her suffering. But you never know how the karmic result will be.No life like to die.Only the brain wants to die not your body.just hokd your breath for 2 min and see if your body wants to die.You have no right to stop a being from getting birth or to kill a living being.Doesn't care what your intentions are karmic results will happen. This is not a plac where you can apply good intention to get good karma

Just because you hate living life doesnt mean every living being think the same way.Did the cat told you it doesnt like litter?or the litter to be born told you i don't like to be born?no its all your mental decisions according to your liking. This will lead definite bad karmic results.

u honestly think every being hates death ? approximately 1 million bipedal mammals prove you wrong every year. any many more fail repeatedly and go unreported. body wants many things. that doesn't mean it's the right thing to desire. im sure bodies of rapers' desire the act of raping.

brain is the closest thing to one's real identity and desires. not body.

nobody has right to anything. rights are a socially constructed illusion. rights are as real as unicorns. beings kill and beings die. that's all. factual description of the world should never contain the word "rights" in it.

Body like being raped?may be a very slow sensual rape. You cant apply to evey women who gor brutely hard forced.if a women liked the feeling of being raped deep in her mind she made a liking for it.Body and mind are nor separate entities. It is just that mind has imagination. It gives a illusion of seprate entity from body. There is no right or wrong but there are reslts,If you can accept the results then do it.Results can be a pleasent or unpleasent experiance. Its upto you to decide.

imo.. philosophically its really hard to make a case against the morality of "preventing a being from birth", Its a kinda gray area but if we look harder at it , imo its even wrong to not ejaculate inside a virgina in all possible times, to maximize births :oo:

I'm saying its not your right to choose what happen to another living being right. Its ok you operate your self. But without taking others permission or from a being who cant express themselfs. It's wrong doing.

u are right in saying that mind and body is not as separable as we think. there are results and the question is does everybody experience a result the same way ? what if there's someone who hates growing old and desire to die young ? wouldnt he enjoy the results others see as undesirable ?

yes but practically in many occasions that line gets really blurred.. for example when u use contraception, on one point of view u are blocking a conception which is gonna happen naturally... but on the other point of view its your penis.. and u have the right to wrap anything around it.. :baffled:

the very idea of preventing a being from being born is nonsensical unless u accept there's an after/previous life. if there's an afterlife you can't prevent him/her from being born. if there is no afterlife you've robed nothing of its right.

It's fine it's individual liking and choice. But how can you decide someone else should die young?Apply this to operating a cat.who are we to decide whether it should not have litter or not?

well then when is it immoral to kill a being? after birth? or after getting some level of consciousness ? because from your argument its only immoral if there is some continuity from the past and to the future to the time of the ending of life

Yes again it's about you and your future kids. But this is about a separate being. It's like forcing contraception pills on a friend without her acknowledgment.

I dont think cats desire children the way humans and other primates do. they might not even be able to understand the relation between sex and kittens. they just instinctively feed and take care of their offspring. u don't rob them of anything because they don't even know they had it in the first place.
