If this is the case, i agree with you. But i meant for a typical scenario for most products which they're selling.

I also use the Sony 1000xm3
Also tried bose 700, Sennheiser PXC 550ii & Momentum 3 before buying the Sony .
Momentum 3 has the best audio quality but it's bit heavier
And bit uncomfortable compared to Sony and bose.
Pxc 550 ii is very comfy audio quality is okay. I am a fan of senhieser sound signature but the lows are not enough In pxc for audiophiles.. Also ANC is not that strong compared to sonys..
Bose 700s audio is okay. But for me it's not loud enough and the sound is much more neutral. You don't get that pounding bass. But mids are better than Sony.
Overall sony 1000xm3 is the best value for money. Now it's on sale I bought it for 300SGD on cyber Monday deal.

After using the Sony I have only one complaint, it can be paired with only one device at a time.. Bose can be paired with two afaik. If you want to use it with both your mobile and your laptop then you'll have to turn off the Bluetooth off one and connect with the other.. That's all.

Don't you interest for in-ear headphones? Recently bought Airpod pro. Sound quality is impressive & ANC is comparatively ok.

I haven't tested Sony 1000xm3 yet and afaik over ear headphones is better than in-ear one in the long run and for noice cancelling.
