Indeed machan. Almost 80% of the medical field is corrupted. Most of the modern day Doctors prescribe any shit, if they get a sponsorship or any financial grant.

I observed your posts and I guess you are somehow related to medical/pharmaceutical filed? Much valid points.

but y do then doctors prescribe them ? i mean they cant be as stupid as people trying to portray them in social media. they learn those things and understand how antibiotics and viruses works. i think they have a reason for doing so. perhaps statistical studies might have proven something even though the fundamental mechanics of viruses and antibiotics implies antibiotics have no direct effect on viruses right ?

Just because most of them get some kind of commissions for prescribing the sponsored branded antibiotics. Since most of us cannot argue, we take whatever they prescribe.

Simply because people are unhappy with the doctor if antibiotics are not prescribed. The visit another one and get it. They simply don't get the facts. I can understand that they have antibiotics if there are secondary infections.
They start taking antibiotics like vitamins.:sorry:
In the west, the issue of antibiotics are watched and controlled, any doctor who over prescribe will invariably get questioned. In SriLanka no such system. You don't even need a doctor. Just visit the pharmacist and he will tell you what to use.

i think they prescribe it to help sore throat. it's correct they dont have any effect on common cold. but they can help cure bacterial infections in the throat and people falsely accuse them of abusing antibiotics because theyve got common cold and sore throat confused thinking doctors are prescribing it to cure the cold.
