sunyathavada is about denying the very idea of substance as per my understanding. i think what he's doing is try to give an ontological description to nirvana. that's the easiest way to understand just about anything. but i dont think it's right to consider it(nirvana) as a substancesunyathavada is about denying the very idea of substance as per my understanding.

not exactly. verbal descriptions can only take u so far. they are there as a guide. read some more articles on the topic sunyathavada. ud understand what i mean. people have to use concepts found among general population to explain their insights even when they go beyond simple concepts we use in our day to day life. so when somebody came up with some profound concept like sunyathavada it's normal for everybody to try and give some sunthayavadi explanation to their ideas. just because some 2 explanations sounds similar doesnt mean they both refer to the same thing![]()

Nowadays, the most foolish thing people do is trying to understand something without making an effort to get there in the first place. As a simple example, its like a 6 year old is trying to pass A/L examination.
