well provided that those billionaires are taxed a rate even lower than teachers etc this is not a totally bad idea. mind you this tax only affects billionaires and the wealth earned during the pandemic.(but I personally think Musk's investments will serve humanity better than any US government expenditure )

BTW world miss a great opportunity in Bernie .If he ( or Al Gore in 2000) got elected for US presidency they would have tackled climate change head on rather than passing it to the next generation.

And for the record countries hat advocate a mix of socialism and capitalism do better than countries with capitalistic free market when we consider the quality of life.(eg Nordic countries)

wealth gained is not cash at hand or bank. It's just calculated based on share price multiplied by number of shares owned. Today share price of Tesla hangs around 1500 USD, if Elon Musk sells millions of shares this price would drop significantly affecting all other innocent investors.
