Yes... these problems are a part of latest technology....
The F35 is built using composites - thus does not have a metal skin. This creates a passive lightning problem. The Onboard Inert Gas Generation Systems (OBIGGS) that are designed to pump nitrogen-enriched air into the fuel system to prevent the build up of gases had an issue. I am not sure whether this is addressed yet.
Also at continuous supersonic speeds the special coating that gives the "Stealth" ability overheats and could get damaged.
The F35s had a lot of problems anyway.
