You have hit the nail on its head. Forensic IT is a field that has lot of application in future. This is not Forensic Medicine /Pathology etc. That is to deal with dead bodies.
Forensic IT is very fast developing field. It is an extension of IT. I do not think UOC has any Master on this, My advise it even if they have dont do it there. (I cant tell the reasons here in public ) This is a fast developing field that will have lot of application. You can research on the subject and find out where you get the expertise in foreign unis and most of the courses are now found online. It may be expensive but if you can afford it is worth. It may be your window to new world.
Forensic IT has nothing to do with Forensic Medicine. Two different things. Forensic IT is a well developed subject there are enough material on internet. Best of luck!! (I am not an IT person to help you more but was interested in the subject from 2005 and had read it !!) We have signed Budhapest Convention , and had enacted Electronic Evidence Act 2005 and Computer Crimes Act too . So we are in a good position to develop this field and as far as I know we do not have a proper qualified forensic IT expert.We did not have a proper forensic Science Professor with Phd in the field for a long time and the very popular Prof of Forensic Medicine from UOC (I wont name him as he is dead ) did not have a Phd in forensic Medicine though he had a Phd in Psychiatry!!

No . You need not go abroad. I do not want to advertise any Uni. You can research on your own , There are online Masters level degrees. Some are sandwiched so that you may go only for a short time like two weeks or not at all. As I told you to my mind there is no expert in the field in SL so trying to learn it in SL from our lecturers are......
In any event since online is the order of the day(even for full time courses) you can try from SL. Only issue is fees are expensive . If you can afford do it as you can also earn in FC later. Some world renown Unis gave free registration too. I wish you all the best. Good decision.
UOC did not get the best due to one reason. the head of Institute of Computer Technology of UOC in 90s (later UCSC) was not an IT qualified person his Phd was statistics, he felt uncomfortable with properly qualified IT personnel. He was the head of CINTEC was the so called pioneer of IT in SL, but did more harm.
We had IT experts in Sri Lanka, long before this person entered IT field , as Kalutara Bhodi Viharaya was CAD , and entire public exam for secondary school was collated using computers in 1970s . Just two examples . These experts were sidelined and some left sl . You may see why I recommend you to get the best exposure. You may change your mind to work abroad later and you should be equipped for that now. It is your choice ! One other thing Forensic IT person needs to look outside(as WWW and connectivity Cripto, Blockchain have no boundaries, whereas Forensic Medical expert may confine to local situations only(as dead body is in Sl and murderers are also local except in rare cases)
