Kottu or Kotta is South Indian right?
I thought it's pure south Indian until i found this Wikipedia page

    https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kottu

Seems like indians have a kottu variant originated in madurai Tamil Nadu, India. It is made using parata from bleached flour locally called maida. Other indian variants of kottu parata are muttai kottu parata, chilli parata. It is also called Veechu parata in Kerala, India. I wonder whether they invented this recipe their self or they came to know about this from Sri Lanka.

Kothu originated from Kerala South India. It was called Kothu parota. Wikipedia is not always 100% correct and is not a proof of source, since it can be edited by users.
Parota and Roti are two different things.

Read my post again. I edited it with some additional information that i found on Wikipedia. I still wonder how they came to know about kottu. Kottu means "chop' in tamil. Kottu roti = chopped roti

Kottu roti does not belong to Sri Lanka, it came from somewhere in India.
Yes it is an acceptable fact that it was originated from somewhere in Kerala. Anyways the government wants us to fight with this matter and forget the current prevailing economic crisis. So Let's end this without further arguments. Those who say It's Sri lankan's dish okay it is and those who don't agree, it is what it is. cheers let's move on.

What sort of roti they use in Sri Lanka? Isnt it chopped godamba roti ? I think it has no layers like parata. Both of these roties require oil soaking. I think there won't be a big difference in taste when you make kottu out of it.

How can we verify who made it 1st ?

Do they add chicken in to it ? As i know saivar restaurants only serve vegetarian food. Saivam means vegetarian in Tamil.
