Just a couple of years ago before Covid we were at LHR en-route to SIN. There was a white couple with two young kids. Brown & Black. My son went ahead and started talking with them. He always does talk to people.
When they found out that we were Srilankan they came and spoke with us. Their adopted son is from SL and a quite normal kid. After that when they visited Africa, where there they found this abandoned girl in an orphanage, with loss of sight in one eye, loss of hearing on one ear and with severe medical problems. They adopted this little girl and took her to Australia where they were from to offer her a chance to live. The adopted mother was constantly carrying this little girl. Obviously they loved both these kids. It was quite apparent.
They said they never had their own kids because the world has so many abandoned kids.
We talk about Buddihism but to me these guys are the ones that who truly uphold the real Buddhist values. They have true compassion.
