Christopher ward is a really good young brand.
There are stories that, While developing the trident series watches Mr ward had visited many high end the Swiss watch retail shops in london to observe the bezel action and bezel sound of the other brands.
That much of attention to detail having to the trident series

Came across this very interesting read guys... Original Source

This is about making Cliches for watch making.. A cliché plate, also called a pad printing plate, is etched with the image for printing. Basically used to print things on the watch dial.

Apparently this guy`s name is Mite, but I could not find any extra details about him anywhere.

The articles goes on to say:

"One extremely important step, and Mite's specialty, occurs after the hardening process, and before the etching process. This process is called the "retouching phase" and involves skilful hand work under a powerful microscope. The image that is about to be etched in the next stage often has small errors. Either areas that are not properly formed, or little dots that look like "noise" in the pad. Mite spends up to 3 hours under the microscope hand painting the errors out in the image. "

    And the crazy bit is:

"There are designers, and engineers, and technicians and watchmakers that make that crown-marked-watch, but Mite, a veteran of nearly two decades has been the final stage of QC for every single cliche for every single pad printed Rolex watch in the better part of the 21st century."

Basically, the number 1 watch brand in the world, a billion dollar company which supposedly made over a million watches last year, would use the services of a single man to finalize and hand finish their dial printing cliches!

What a bloody amazing job/talent!!

Yes, Rolex market went crazy after Covid. It's mostly hype really. They are not worth double the retail prices, unless for special editions like certain Daytonas. I will only buy one at retail price if i can find, if not, will wait. Hopefully there will be plenty of deals by next year due to global financial crisis.

You have any interesting watches other than the Mido? Mama ahala thiyena brand ekak, haven't seen one in person.

Only have these 2 for the moment. In the waiting list for a Rolex Air King, but the dealer don't know when they will get stock. Rolex don't have enough supply at the moment.

As per what I said before, waiting patiently and sticking to my guns finally paid off Guys..

Got a call from the Rolex AD last week..

I was on the list for a Green Oyster Perpetual and an Air King.. They said that a Green Oyster Perpetual has just arrived..

Went to the store last Saturday, to my surprise, they had the Green Oyster Perpetual and also an Air King and offered that I could buy either one since i was on the waiting list for an year (but not both)..

Was a difficult choice, but ended up buying the Green Oyster Perpetual because it felt a bit extra special.. I like simpler smaller watches anyway, big Chronograph`s and Dive watches are not really my thing..

My first ever mechanical watch.. 3230 movement, 70 hour power reserve, Superlative Chronometer (COSC + Rolex certification after casing, guaranteed accuracy of +2 / -2 seconds per day)..

Though I've paid and bought it, i am not allowed to take it home until next month lol!! :D The watch will go in display until the 15th of next month, I can go pick it up then :D

The first wrist shot (bracelet is not adjusted, so it`s not worn on the wrist properly):

    Congratulations @MrCat 🎉
This is sick....is it 41mm version?
OP is favourite Rolex of mine too.
When my all the life goals are accomplished, I'll buy one too.😊
OP is well regarded as the last real tool watch that Rolex (ironically Rolex was used to be a tool watch maker) is making.

    Thanks Machan.!

Yes, this is 41mm, although 39/40mm would have been ideal for me, the next size down the lineup is 36mm which is kind of too small..

You will be able to buy one for sure, the hype cycles dont last forever, they should come down to more realistic levels in pricing and stock. Looks like Rolex are trying address demand and most stock is coming to the market. Apparently they are building a new factory expected to be completed by 2025 as well. When this hype cycle ends I guess models like the OP could be available well below retail price on the used market within the next 10 years (even for relatively new watches).

Back in 2020 Rolex introduced the Oyster Perpetual in 5 vibrant colors (lacquered dials) for the first time ever.. Pink was not available in 41mm, so the 41mm version only had 4 colors. The market went crazy, colors like the Turquoise Blue (also known as Tiffany blue) went for 3x - 5x the retail price in gray market.

All the colors are now discontinued in 41mm, I am praying that Green will be discontinued soon!! LOL! :D

    Rolex+Oyster+Perpetual+36+Vibrant+Color+Dials+2020

The 2023 Hype dial is "Turquoise blue, Celebration motif". Kind of adventurous for Rolex, not exactly sure whether it`ll be a classic piece one day though :

    Thanks... 😊 😊 😊

Inna rata mokakda? >> Kangaroo Land.. 😊
Price eka kiyada? >> Retail price set by Rolex: $9050 (sathayak wath adu karanne natha...)
Ai shop eke watches natte? >> Massive demand for Rolex, supply karanna badu natha.. I should be able to easily sell this watch for around $12000 in the used market..
Ai 1y waiting list eke hitiye? >> uda hethuwa ma thamai.. Rolex shop ekakata gihin double price gewwath ganna badu natha.. Used market has any model, but you have to pay hefty prices..
Mokakda superlative chronometer kiyanne? >> COSC certification + Rolex`s own certification after casing, guaranteed accuracy of +2 / -2 seconds per day. Considering how simple and durable the movement is (not crazy high-tech like Grand Seiko`s Spring Drive or Not innovative like Omega`s dual escapement), achieving this accuracy (in average) is an engineering masterpiece.

COSC (the Swiss Official Chronometer Testing Institute), for its official certification, apparently requires each movement to be tested for 15 days and 15 nights for accuracy.
