Sri Lankan mobile numbers can't receive Verification SMS / OTP?

Stuck trying to create a Telegram account, tried multiple times but never received the verification SMS. What's going on?

whether you're using the PC app or the mobile app, your mobile number is always connected to your phone. So, you'll need to turn off wifi calling on your phone
