Best that money can do is maybe a vezel right. So I'd say worth it.
yes.. I think so.. Vezel can purchase now 180 - 250 lack depend on the grade...

but still earlier for get perfect understanding about BYD vehicles in Sri Lankan context. so I would prefer to watch others who buy this and get to know their experience

I think thiat is partially true for EVs sonce the tech evolves very fast, since this is a phev one, there won't be much issues. Only need to research about the vehicle and the engine.

Mchn please stop saying the "Range" of petrol powered cars 😬 It is very misleading.
"Range" is for EVs and Fuel Consumption/Efficiency for hybrids and ICEs should be fair.

This car you have mentioned "Leapmotor c10" has 2 versions.
    • Leapmotor C10 full EV: Range 420km
    • Leapmotor C10 REEV: Fuel Consumption is 16km per Litre ( This is the one you said as 950km range - And I think there are many hybrids doing better consumption than this. )
The good thing about buying a "Range-Extended Electric Vehicle" such as this one or BYD Sealion are mostly the comfort and acceleration and those. This is a very cheap marketing tactic used by BYD to market the Sealion. Sealion can be a good car. But this misleading thing is bad.

Misleading buyers with 1000km or something like that is unacceptable.

ChatGPT explains it better than me.

✅ Yes — this post is mostly true and accurate.

    Here’s a breakdown:

🔹 1. “Range” is technically for EVs

    • In automotive terminology, “range” is primarily used for electric vehicles (EVs) — it means how far the car can go on a single full charge.
    • For ICE (Internal Combustion Engine) or hybrid cars, we usually talk about:
      • Fuel consumption (e.g. 16 km/L)
      • Fuel efficiency (e.g. 6.2 L/100 km)
    • So yes — saying “range” for a petrol-powered or hybrid car can be misleading, especially if it implies it’s an EV-type range metric.

    🔹 2. Leapmotor C10 models

    • ✅ Leapmotor C10 EV: 100% electric, around 420 km range (true).
    • ✅ Leapmotor C10 REEV (Range-Extended EV):
      • It’s not a full hybrid and not a pure EV — it’s a series hybrid, where the petrol engine only generates electricity, not directly drive the wheels.
      • It typically has a fuel consumption around 15–16 km/L, and a combined “total driving distance” of ~950 km when counting both battery and petrol energy.
      • So the 950 km “range” figure is marketing-based, not EV range — it’s battery + petrol together.

    🔹 3. BYD Sealion (also a REEV / PHEV)

    • BYD and other Chinese brands often market “1000 km range” figures for their plug-in hybrids (PHEVs or REEVs) by adding electric range + full tank range.
    • While it’s not technically false, it’s misleading — it gives buyers the impression it’s a long-range EV, when it’s actually a hybrid with limited EV-only range (usually ~80–200 km on battery).

    ✅ Verdict

    The message is accurate in:
    • Saying “range” should not be used for petrol/hybrid cars.
    • Clarifying that Leapmotor C10 REEV’s 950 km is a combined figure, not pure EV range.
