My daughter goes to Musaeus College and I am concerned about what I heard recently... not only about 3 students committing suicide without teachers or senior students not even suspecting something wrong, but also at the way the whole incident was handled - the lack of proper first-aid provided (some say the student who hung herself might have survived if propoer first aid was provided) and to the way the school has rejected any responsibility since then.

I am seriously thinking of taking my daughter out of the school. Am I just over-reacting? I would like to know your opinion.

.Tania.

I guess the school has something to do with it. They should highly monitor their so called PREFECTS before they would go and find faults in ordinary children

Sis, create a home environment where your daughter can come home and tell you anything without the fear of being judged, ridiculed, blamed, punished and led to feel guilty and inferior. We can't change the whole world; one school may not be much different from another. But let your child know that you'll be by her side, whether she's right or wrong.

over-reacting? U r also in two minded....... if U r a parent then please keep a close look
with the school and more more more in U r daughter........ U r child only stay for
less than 6 hours at School so why can't U think that the parents are more responsible than the School.... If U are behind Your child she or he will never misled... no matter what school she goes.. what kind of friends she have....... THINK WISELY

the school cannot be held responsible.. The parents are the ones that should be blamed.. the child only spends 6-7 hours at school.. and the schools are understaffed.. THe parents should be aware of their child's mental health.. and there aint no first aid for hanging..

 true... parents r da ones that shd be blamed... if u show da correct path frm da beginning da child wont go astray! thrs nthin to do with da schl.. these sort of things cn happen inside any shcl.. n hv alrdy hpnd in da past.. and yes u R over reacting

1st thing is dont take your child out of the school...its not schools fault..

you hv to teach your child good and bad habits and da value of life. And get close to their lives. listen to their needs.. advice them friendly. dont bark at them (as most parents do) try to understand ur children s situation too.

and this incident is purely occurred because this kid was misguided and never thought the value of life.. she lied to her parents, and teachers.
end of the day she paid vth her life.. first of all she shudnt hv bring a phone to school.. sencondly she shudnt hv done anything to her life..

and i dont think any school prepare first aid for suicide. and even teachers and other student didnt touch her coz they were scared and didnt want to get involved in da situation.. which is fare enough.. coz end of the day dat person will b blamed..

as now full blame was put in to the school..

Most of the parents shud take da responsibility for this matter... not da school

as i saw, some people are trying to take this advantage to downgrade the school. but i know very little about the incident. Maybe school staff could have done something to prevent this. but that doest mean all other children are in risk in this school. this is a very special condition. not true for every kid. Even parents could be responsible for this! parents, teachers they all should have given the child a proper knowledge and understanding about the life and incidents..
