I like to talk about Power Unit modding..

I already done some modding and getting success all times..

Anyone done it before ?

I have never heard of psu modding.I generally stay away from the psu cause if you open it up it will void the warranty.
By the way I would like to see some of your work please post some pics of the mods you have done here.

Nice article.thanks.
But I would have done the mod differently.Like adding a 120mm fan to the bottom of the psu rather than use 2 80mm fans.

Anything can be modded, on PSU's most of the time the things that should be modded are the capacitors, most low budget ones contain sub par caps, you can replace them with good caps from manufacturers like Rubycon, Nichicon, Nippon Chemicon, Panasonic, Elna, Sanyo etc, Modding capacity of a PSU is vast, only limited by your imagination.

yah, I also modding caps. but there are many others to modd.

Here my PSU MODD

Replaced low quality capacitors (output stage) with high quality low ESR, high capacity capacitors
Also replaced Input dc line capacitors with high quality two caps
Added input EMI/RFI noise filter
Added AC surge protection (3 MOVs)
Added AC PFC coil
Added more X,Y capacitors for better noise attunation.
Replaced 4 (2A 500V) recifiers with bridge rec. (5A)
Replaced heaksink with large thik one.
Replaced +12V Skottkey diode with 30A 45V high power skottkey diode. and +3.3V , +5V
Added Series inductors for +12V, +5V, +3.3V lines
replaced old fan with high quality one + Speed limit
230V/110V swith now used for FAN speed control - Low/High
Old PSU cover removed, use another cover with lot of went holes.
Adding new CAP,Diode for +5V SB line.


Results:

+12V, +5V, +3.3V rails are now more stable in variuos load conditions.
Restarts in brown-out stages are stopped (thanks to large 2 filter capacitors)
protected from lightning (surges)
PSU running more cooler and quietly
+5V SB line now hold up for 3 seconds.
