The main opposition UNP said its leader Ranil Wickremesighe will not accept the premiership of a caretaker government which will be appointed by General Sarath Fonseka if he wins the next presidential election.

UNP General Secretary Tissa Attanayake said that the party will not accept any major positions in the caretaker government and would contest a general election that would be held under the alone.
