    Matrix = Buddhism ??
    Which matrix did you watch ?? The creators of the Matrix trilogy themselves said they used Christian symbolism and analogy.

    It seems clear, then, that the Martrix movies cannot be described as Buddhist films - but the fact remains that they make extensive use of Buddhist themes and principles. While the Matrix may not be an exact equivalent of maya and Keanu Reeve's character Neo may not be a bodhisattava, the Wachowski brothers did deliberately incorporate aspects of Buddhism into their story because they believe that Buddhism has something to say to us about our world and how we conduct our lives.

    Bro It is one of the hardest thing to understand.I watched this three movies more than 10 times until I understood..U will find the explanatition in ani matrix.

    Matrix (the first movie) is a heavy sci fi movie that has some elements of Buddhism's theories. Not so the Reloaded and Revolutions movies. Those 2 are loaded with Christian theology and symbols.

    BTW, Dont mix the animatrix with the matrix trilogy.
    The short movies of animatrix were done by 6 different directors telling different stories.

    Bro I dont need to argue about it bro..The problem is that any one doesn't know about ani matrix...
    There u can see the symbols and this story describes that how some one like neo comes to the world and save the people..Any way the only difference I saw is that Neo Stop the Circle permenently But in buddhism The circle will never stop..

    But that is the place where descibe the theme..That is the most important..We know buddhism is a very great phylosophy.It is not easy to understant..As I think the great party is given in symbols..And in here u have to understand it in symbols..So the ani matrix is the place which describes the story,Theme..:)

    They never mentition the name buddhism..I even cant remember the name of it.But I think u will remember the story..Neo's arrival is very similar to the Lord Buddha's.(I never compare them,As I am a buddhist).It shows that how earlier heroes like neo save the people from evil and they tell that circle will never change.Any way neo stop It)..Neo is the fifth one..We know only in buddhism that leader will appear like this.:)

    Drawing upon the Buddhist doctrine of Dependent Co-Origination, the film presents reality within the matrix as a conglomerate of the illusions of all humans caught within its snare. Similarly, Buddhism teaches that the suffering of human beings is dependent upon a cycle of ignorance and desire which locks humans into a repetitive cycle of birth, death, and rebirth. The principle is stated in a short formula in the Samyutta-nikaya:
    If this is that comes to be;
    from the arising of this that arises;
    if this is not that does not come to be;
    from the stopping of this that is stopped.

    arnt you tying yourself in knots here ?
    Animatrix doesnt have a single short movie that even talks about Neo.

    Neon being the fifth, which comes in Matrix Reloaded, is a complete analogy on the basic functionality of computers and software : which is repetition.
    That's what computers do best, repeat a set of given instructions.
    Here's they've taken that and the OOP's exception handling concept in naming Neo as the exception.
    That's what Neo being the fifth and repetition is based on.
