what if the network connection is down? :|
When you are not connected to the internet it scans only for basic set of threats. But with today's virus spreading speed, your traditional virus scanner is also useless without daily virus updates.
Check the first post machan.
So the only advantage of this anti-virus's low system resource usage when its compared to something like AVG?
also its supposed to have faster updates. So the only advantage of this anti-virus's low system resource usage when its compared to something like AVG?

if the antivirus is currently upto dated it should not have any major updates to be downloaded at all.
And most of the antivirus software uses online databases which are being updated automatically and manually these days.
So i'm just trying to figure out why i should move to this software putting down the one i use right now. [AVG is my current antivirus software]

what Myth has posted is links to all the virus scanners and couple of line description about each one of them. And cloud antivirus at the bottom of the page and only saying good for slow computers.which is totally out of the fact.
I wrote this article all by my self targeting cloud antivirus and based on my tests and experience with the scanner for last few months. So don't compare giving links to a technical article.![]()

you should move to it only if you have a whole bunch of low resources windows machines connected to the net.if the antivirus is currently upto dated it should not have any major updates to be downloaded at all.

Lets say your AVG updates 2 times per day. This updates every split second.
But you don't have to download them to keep updated.
When you scan its always updated coz you scanning using the cloud not your local definitions.

i nvr told that this is a repost or etc..
just a link 2 my dieing thread![]()

you should move to it only if you have a whole bunch of low resources windows machines connected to the net.
It'll be useful for anyone using a lot of Windows virtual machines either as a provider or a user.
Or for a network of windows thin clients.
Try a PC that has viruses that loads at boot time before the AV scan is loaded. Its useful even if you have net connected high resource windows machines. I don't see any advantage to go with traditional scanners even if you have a high resource machine.

and thats one advantage of a traditional scannerWe install the scanner in Windows mode so it scans in that mode. It keeps protecting it until windows get shut down.
Cloud based anti virus also can find viruses in Windows mode and set the commands to delete/fix them during the boot process.
But this can not be used as a regular antivirus CD/Removable drive to save your already infected offline computer.
and thats one advantage of a traditional scanner
