Just like everything else time is relative. And time is believed to be a creation of mind. Some believe time to be a dimension.

Will it be correct if we say "time flows at a constant rate?"

Hasn't Lord Buddha has discouraged venturing the study into these? since they could not be understood within a lifetime and they do not help in attaining Nibbana.

Remember once Lord Buddha had said that the things thought to us is a very little compared to the knowledge of Buddha. But all the knowledge that is required to attain nibbana has been thought to us.

Time is not a concept that could not be understood within a life time. I think understanding that time is not real and what is real is "change" is really important. Buddha said everything changes constanty, and that is the reality. Change does not happen because of time, but time is a measurement of change.

Well said. Reps for this one. You are 100% correct.

AFAK this is one of the core concepts in Buddhism. Even 'Me' is not the same 'Me' by the time I finish typing this sentence.

Imagine the difficulty we would face if the concept of time were not there. Then again, to understand about the change and hence time, one needs to be intelligent. Hence time becomes a creation of mind.

This is what I feel.

It will not be correct since time does not flow at a constant rate. It flows at a rate relative to the observer.

I stand corrected.

Got the opportunity to watch a documentary "Journey to the edge of the Universe". It says that even light does not escape a black hole. Maybe time too?

Yes of course. Time is a creation of mind. In a sense Everything is a creation of mind. The names, maths, logic, language everything is created to understand the natural phenomenons.

I stand corrected.

The effect of Gravity on light has been observed to a depth. It seems that gravity causes dips in space-time and this in turn causes light to bend when it passes large masses. Black hole having an infinite gravitational field, will have an escape velocity greater than light. So yes light will not escape a black hole. It would be interesting to know what effect will such a mass cause in space-time. Possibly time dialations. But I don't think anyone have studied black holes to that far.

Well . Black holes doesn't keep everything inside. Recently found that they releases a different kind of positive mass in to the universe!!!!:baffled:
