I met an electrical and computer parts items importer in colombo and I asked about this case from him.
So this is what he said to me,
He said ordering small items like pen drives , MP4 players , etc is not an issue but sending valuable items like TV's , Laptops , etc will definitely penalized by the SL custom.
It does not matter the mode you are sending ( as a gift ).
If this is really possible he said every body will buy electrical items from you in SL because its very cheap.
When buying from ebay there is an insurance option, if we like we can pay and insure our goods and also, they are not responsible for taxes and importing rules and regulations in each country.
