Its just that after gaining independence, the country lost its momentum and didn't fall in line with advancing markets and technology exactly to catch up to what it could have been.

Well, at least there is a new harbour coming up down-south. Let's hope it will lay the path for more development borne through proper resource management, and moreover without corruption.
