not directly, but one can cultivate seela doing these things. seela will definitely shape the condition for karma to ripen.

I see ,but for me "Seela" is most of the time make no sense, boring, And even tedious process or time taken path to follow obtain Enlightenment. According to my readings.
Seela is needed when you want to suppress and stabilize both your physical and mental states. It becomes truly helpful when you try to follow mindfulness, not in the ordinary sense, but in a deep spiritual way. Without Seela, it is impossible or at least far more complex to attain even a single Samadhi.
So yes, Seela is essential if you seek spiritual achievement.
That’s it. And this is solely based on my own experience.

vipassana (process of seeing 3 marks) needs strong samadi/concentration. cant have required chitasikas for a strong samadi if the cittas are not clean enough (seela)
seela ->samadi -> prajna
මිනිස්සුන්ගේ අහිංසක විශ්වාස, ඇදහිලි වලට ගරහන්න එපා.

I don't know about other stuff, but if someone sitting an exam is stupid enough to get courage by worshipping and praying to a tree, they don't deserve to pass that exam.
Yes, as I said before it's about confidence, praying alone is not going to do anything for anyone
