I know how rural peripheral units function. No ambulances, not even a vehicle to transport patients who need ETU care for snake bites and other medical emergencies. The few doctors and nurses who are working in these units are unsung hero's. They work in small hospitals in the middle of jungle visited occasionally by elephants. How can politicians reserve ambulances for themselves while rural poor are left to die in the middle of jungles I cannot imagine.
