2017 අය වැයෙන් ඇතැම් වාහනවල මිල අඩු වැඩිවීමක් සිදුව ඇති බව ලංකා වාහන ආනයනකරුවන්ගේ සංගමයේ සභාපති සම්පත් මෙරෙංචිගේ මහතා පවසයි.

බදු ප්‍රතිශතය අඩු වැඩිවීම මත මෙය සිදුවන බවත්, ඒ අනූව මරුටි වැනි රථයක මිල රුපියල් ලක්ෂ 2කින් පමණ වැඩි විය හැකි බවත්, ලිෆ් රථවල මිල රුපියල් ලක්ෂ 3කින් පමණ අඩුවිය හැකි බවත්, හෙතෙම කියයි.

එසේම එංජින් ධාරිතාව 1000 සිට 1500 දක්වා හයිබ්‍රිඩ් වාහනවල මිල අඩු වැඩිවීමක් නොවනු ඇතැයිද ඔහු පවසයි.

තවද වෑන්, ලොරි, ටිපර්, ඩබල් කැබ් වැනි වාහනවලද මිල අඩුවැඩිවීමක් අපේක්ෂා කළ හැකි බවත්, ත්‍රීවිලරයක බදු මුදල රුපියල් 50,000කින් පමණ වැඩි කර ඇති බවත්, ඔහු වැඩිදුරටත් පෙන්වාදෙයි.

Yes, Best option is Create good Public transport service like singapore. Otherwise It will be a Huge problem in the future. Land not expanding , but vehicles getting increase day by day.

If so There are other solutions to that problem other than increasing Vehicles taxes.
I,d rather go with increasing Revenue Licence fees
Rejection of Renewal Revenue Licence for old vehicles
Increasing Driving licence fees a likes will lower public vehicles on the road other than killing peoples expectations to buy a new vehicle or choose low quality vehicles like kwid.

We can create good Public transportation around Colombo and suburbs including MRT , then Ban the private vehicles to entering into colombo , instead introduce budget taxi service for low price. So you can keep your vehicle home and use only for go outstations. simply sort the urban traffic.

before doing all that u have suggested first we should give the people a proper alternative. otherwise its unfair for the general public. for an example lets say a person doing a decent job goes to work in the car. we cannot expect him to go in a private bus sweating and packed like sardines. i think in the western province or busses entering colombo atleast the govt should make AC mandatory for the same price that they charge without AC. also put a ban on max passengers allowed in a bus. something like mono rail which is coming up also is a good alternative.
