Right now, I am in a skeptical position regarding this argument.

He highlights few very important aspects. The question of who keeps the books is a question that I have myself asked from many people, and no one has ever been able to explain this. Nor have I found a simple answer to this question in Buddha's teachings(Maybe I'm missing a simple point). So I had to come up with my own explanation.

The “universe” tallies ones karma by essentially having an elaborate bookkeeping system (who keeps the books?)

But I feel that he is addressing the Sinhalese Buddhist Culture/Society rather than the Buddhism itself. Most people you find in Sri Lanka, even here in EK are those who has extensive knowledge on buddhist teachings but follow them with a blind faith. They were only given exposure to Buddhism by birth.

I can bet that non of them would be able to answer the above question.

However I have my own opinions in the subject and I think the ideas of rebirth,samsara and karma are different from the GOD concept.

He has observed the influence of Hinduism(Which many buddhists would simply deny, because the do not care to observe the facts but are more interested in defending faith) correctly to a certain extent. But he is wrong to say that the core of buddhism is taken from Hinduism in my opinion.

What's the relation? Muslims conquered many parts of the world, disregard of religion. Buddhists or not people will retaliate when they are faced with death. I don't think Buddhism had anything to do with it.

Yes, those are common thing in every country. Most of things added according to their Traditions. But pure Dharma is written down on Thripitaka and those belief not harm the main Content.
