hey, sorry I wasn't online for a couple of days.

this is probably too late but you could get him Joseph Conrads books like Heart of darkness, Lord Jim or Nostromo..these are the books one can read and look back at their past..

also, Tale of two cities by Charles dickens (he'd probably read it though)

and Love in the time of cholera would give any older person goosebumps ..it's not a love story btw.

in case he's not read it get him Virginia woolfs To the lighthouse (no other book reminisce on past and life and people like that book)

Portrait of a young man as an artist is another great book..

I'm pretty sure he's read Dostoevskys books, in case he hasn't, brothers karamazov would blow his minds
