1. There is no direct law that specifically says to wear mask in a car.
2. But Ajith Rohana clarified if driver only no need but one or more messenger it is a must considering the situation.
3. Arrest can be challenged at a high court

Irrespective of the law is, if you are carrying a passenger, all should always wear masks. Studies by US Universities did find that when the windows opposite the occupants are open, you get a flow pattern that enters the car behind the driver, sweeps across the cabin behind the passenger and then goes out. This helps to prevent the droplet accumulation in the car.

Here we are talking about a family living in the same house, some sleeping together, travelling in their own car with closed windows. hence your explanation is irrelavant.
