If the missiles had remained we would have used them against the very heart of America including New York. We must never establish peaceful coexistence. In this struggle to the death between two systems we must gain the ultimate victory. We must walk the path of liberation even if it costs millions of atomic victims.

yet, U give the source. But honestly I don't care. You can't judge them if you can't understand the rift between cuba and america at that time. You said che massacred thousands of civilians. Can you prove that please?

yet, U give the source. But honestly I don't care. You can't judge them if you can't understand the rift between cuba and america at that time. You said che massacred thousands of civilians. Can you prove that please?

The main books describing those are

    1. Exposing the Real Che Guevara: And the Useful Idiots Who Idolize Him by Humberto Fontova and

    2. The Che Guevara Myth and the Future of Liberty by Alvaro Vargas Llosa

In 1997, Pierre San Martin, a Cuban who was jailed by Che, recalled an incident that happened in 1959.

A 12-14 year old boy, beaten and bloody, had been thrown into the cell with him. The boy said he was there for simply defending his father. The boy was trying to keep his father from being executed. He failed.
Later, the guards came for the boy:

“Near the wall where they conducted the executions, with his hands on his waist, paced from side to side the abominable Che Guevera.

He gave the order to bring the boy first and he ordered him to kneel in front of the wall. We all screamed for them not to commit this crime and we offered ourselves in his place. The boy disobeyed the order with a courage that words can’t express and responded to this infamous character: ‘If you’re going to kill me you’re going to have to do it the way you kill a man, standing, not like a coward, kneeling’

Walking behind the boy, the Che said “Whereupon you are a brave lad….” He unholstered his pistol and shot him in the nape of the neck so that he almost decapitated him."

Once, a mother lobbied Che for mercy on her young son. Che responded by picking up the phone. He ordered the execution to be carried out immediately. He had this mother watch her son executed, so she could stop worrying about her son.

Fontova described the first time Che killed for Fidel:

Fidel Castro ordered the execution of a peasant guerrilla named Eutimio Guerra who he accused of being an informer for Batista’s forces. Castro assigned the killing to his own bodyguard, Universo Sanchez. To everyone’s surprise, Che Guevara — a lowly rebel soldier/medic at the time (not yet a comandante — volunteered to accompany Sanchez and another soldier to the execution site. The Cuban rebels were glum as they walked slowly down the trail in a torrential thunderstorm. Finally the little group stopped in a clearing.

Sanchez was hesitant, looking around, perhaps looking for an excuse to postpone or call off the execution. Dozens would follow, but this was the first execution of a Castro rebel by Castro’s rebels. Suddenly without warning Che stepped up and fired his pistol into Guerra’s temple.

“He went into convulsions for a while and was finally still. Now his belongings were mine.” Che wrote in his Diaries.

Shortly afterwards, Che’s father in Buenos Aires received a letter from his prodigal son. “I’d like to confess, papa’, at that moment I discovered that I really like killing.”

From The Che Guevara Myth and the Future of Liberty by Alvaro Vargas Llosa -

A Cuban prosecutor of the time who quickly defected in horror and disgust named Jose Vilasuso estimates that Che signed 400 death warrants the first few months of his command in La Cabana.

A Basque priest named Iaki de Aspiazu, who was often on hand to perform confessions and last rites, says Che personally ordered 700 executions by firing squad during the period. Cuban journalist Luis Ortega, who knew Che as early as 1954, writes in his book Yo Soy El Che! that Guevara sent 1,897 men to the firing squad.

In his book Che Guevara: A Biography, Daniel James writes that Che himself admitted to ordering “several thousand” executions during the first year of the Castro regime. Felix Rodriguez, the Cuban-American CIA operative who helped track him down in Bolivia and was the last person to question him, says that Che during his final talk, admitted to “a couple thousand” executions. But he shrugged them off as all being of “imperialist spies and CIA agents.

But if you don’t care, why bother?

    yep, those are all true.
cuban americans. they all ways tell the truth. You should have told me in the first place.

That’s about the only answer given by Che defenders all around the world for those claims. “All of these are lies, even what Che himself wrote, even what known Che worshipers themselves wrote”.

    A very matured answer indeed.

It’s ok to worship him as long as you know what you’re doing. I can totally understand why you’re saying you can’t judge him. I’m only worried about young people who idolize him blindly without knowing a single thing about his character. :)

You honestly don't understand the attitude of the cuban american population towards che. read some reviews of those books. You cannot win a revolution by lectures I think. So according to you, we should also condemn puran appu and gongalegoda banda. After all they killed didn't they. That's also against Buddhism I think. And I don't think Che ever considered himself as a humanitarian. If anybody thinks that then that's their own fault. No revolution was won without bloodshed during and after the revolt. I don't adore or idolize che. But I don't like people who dehumanize him either. And I hate the fact that some people can't understand the social and political situation of latin america at that time. And you're forgetting what che did for the common people of cuba after the revolution. You're all against che. That's my problem. I can think of a few reasons for that but for the sake of not evolving this into a time wasting argument I won't comment on that. And about what che wrote, your misinterpreting what he said.:nerd:

Lol. Saying someone's immature is a perfect example of being mature.
Read books witten by american cubans about che and castro from the early 60's and 70's and you'll understand why most people laugh at them. Sorry can't remember the exact names of the books.
And I'll idolize che any day over our sinhala buddhist politicians:rolleyes:
You're free to think what you want and so am I.

“If anybody thinks that then that's their own fault.”

As for those books, I only looked at the consistency between the claims and what Che himself told/wrote and what known Che lovers claim/wrote/said.

I found these claims consistent with a person who believed that millions of innocent lives should be sacrificed in a nuclear war for the sake of the prevalence of ‘a system’. Therefore I accepted them when there is no clear evidence to disprove them.

But you believe they are inconsistent and you’re entitled to your opinion.:)

And you admitted that you don't care about the fact that he believed killing millions of innocent lives with nuclear weapons is ok...

But you'll find that many people do care...:)

I'm only speaking for those people...

You kind off skipped some of my questions. I didn't want to comment on this thread any more. But you skipped some questions from my earlier posts as well. :D
So tell me do you think our soldiers didn't have any hate toward ltte cadres when they fought?
Or what about puran appu. I'm sure he loved the British soldiers :)
    lol
Spies were executed and still can be executed if caught. You can't expect them to let the spies go can you. Please learn more about revolutions. Specially the french revolution. The american revolution also.
It was a war. Honestly I can't imagine what your idea of war is. They weren't using bb guns you know
If you're against che as a sinhala buddhist, like you said yourself. you should be ashamed of the heroes we have idolized for generations also. After all they were sinhala buddhists or atleast pretended to be buddhists. Please find some articles written in 1960's about cuba by americans. You'll see how they stereotyped the cubans. And you ask me to believe books and sources written by american cubans keyword here being american. lol
    Che represents communism.
ANd communism here represents the JVP:lol:
That's your real problem. That's why you were so quick to jump into this thread.
bringing Buddhism into everything is just pathetic imho. Buddhism was meant to bring spiritual salvation. Not to be used like this. Like I said before I see no difference between the thaleban and the so called sinhala buddhists. Both groups are extremists.
You come here and say you despise Che because of buddhism, yet you forget our own history.
You're talking about che like he was a sociopath or something and make it look like he was another hitler or something. If you want to know what che meant by the above quotes please read some biographies and auto biographies. Then you'll understand the circumstances and the reasons. He hated capitalism and capitalists. He never denied that. And you'll see that hate manifested many times in his diaries.
There are no black and white characters in the world dude. As a buddhist I'm pretty sure you're supposed to know that.:D
I don't care if other people care or not. And please explain the the term "those people". I'm pretty interested to know what kind of people you are referring to.Although I'm not going to post in this thread again.
Please compare the pre revolution cuba and cuba's growth over the years after the revolution. Can you honestly say the cubans would have been better off?
My problems is you're trying to dehumanize him without even considering the service he did for the cuban people.
And I'm not a che fanatic. I don't own any che caps or t-shirts.
arios amigos. And I dare you to post a thread about any member of the government pointing out their not so sinhala buddhist actions. That probably ain't going to happen.
