නව ලිබියාව දැඩි ඉස්ලාමිය සහ ආගමික දේශයක් ලෙස ට පරිර්‍වතනය කරන බවට ලිබියානු කැරලිකාරීන් පවසයි.එහි ආන්ඩුවේ සභාපති මේ බව ඇමරිකාවට දන්වා ඇති බව වාර්තාවේ.ෂරියා නීතිය දැඩිව ක්‍රියාත්මක කරන බවත්, ගැහැනුන් සම්පූරනෙයන් කලු රෙදි වලින් වැසී සිටිය යුතු බවත්, රටේ පාලනයට ආගමික අයතුල්ලා,මුල්ලා ප්‍රමුඛ ආගමික මණ්ඩලයක් පත් වෙනු ඇති බවත් ආගමික නීතිය සහ ඔවුන්ගේ අණ සියලූම නීති සහ විධානවලට ඉහලින් සිටින බවත් පැවසේ. මේක ඇත්තනම් , මේක විප්ලවයක් නෙවෙයි,ප්‍රතිගාමි විප්ලවයක්.

The transitional government leader Mustafa Abdul-Jalil set out a vision for the post-Gadhafi future with an Islamist tint, saying that Islamic Sharia law would be the "basic source" of legislation in the country and that existing laws that contradict the teachings of Islam would be nullified.
Mr Abdul-Jalil went further, specifically lifting immediately, by decree, one law from Col. Gaddafi's era that he said was in conflict with Sharia - that banning polygamy.

In a blow to those who hoped to see Libya's economy integrate further into the western world, he announced that in future bank regulations would ban the charging of interest, in line with Sharia. "Interest creates disease and hatred among people," he said.
