නෑ... නෑ.... මීට කාලෙකට කලින් Hachijojima කියන දූපතට කිව්වේ එහෙමයි..
දෙවන ලෝක යුද්ධයෙන් පසු ඇතිවු ශිග්ර සංවර්ධනය එක්ක රටට ගලා ආපු අයෝජන සහ දේපල වෙලදාමේ ඇම්මත් එක්කම ජපන් රජය මේ දුපත ජපානයේ හවායි ලෙස ප්රමෝට් කලා...
ප්රංශ බැරොක් ගෘහනිර්මාණ ශිල්පය අනුව 1963දී හදපු මේ Oriental Resort හෝටලේ එකල ජපානයේ ලොකුම හෝටලේ උනා...
මේය එකල ජපානයේ සුපිර්ම හෝටලේ උනා මොකද එකල ජපානයේ පුරවැසියන්ට පිටරටවල යන්න බැහැ සංචාර වලට, ජපන් නීතියෙන් එය තහනම් කරල තිබුනේ.
ඔන්න ඔය විදියට ලෝකෙ පුරාම නම රන්දගෙන ඉදපු ඔරියෙන්ටල් රිසොට් හොටෙලේ 1990 වගේ වෙද්දි අවාසනාවන්ත කාලෙට එලඹුනා.....

ජපානේ රටවැසියන්ට තිබුනු විදෙස් සංචාර තහනම ඉවත් වෙලා ඔවුන් ලෝකය පුරා ඇවිදින්න පටන් අරගද්දි ජපානෙ මේ හෝටලේට තිබ්බ ආකර්ශණේ අඩු වුනා මොකද, මේ දූපතේ වෙරළේ තිබ්බ කලු වැල්ල වෙනුවට සිහින් සුදු වැලි පිරුණු තායිලන්ත, හවායි, Hachijo-jima වගේ ජපානයට ලගින් තිබුනු ආකර්ශණ එක්ක තරගයක් දෙන්න බැරි උනා අපෙ මේ හෝටලෙට...
ඔය වගේ හේතු ගොඩක් නිසා 2006 අවුරුද්දේ මේ හෝටලේ එහෙම්මම ඇතෑරලා දානවා...
මේ තියෙන්නේ එකේ ෆොටෝස් ටිකක්....

The hotel took design inspiration from French Baroque architecture.
Before the world opened up to Japanese tourists, families would flock to the island.
An abandoned car is left derelict by the ravages of the last 10 years.
Now the once much-loved and bustling site lies abandoned and silent.
It was once immaculately kept by a small army of groundskeepers but now lies overgrown.
A pool lies covered in moss after 10 years without maintenance.
Japanese tourists started to turn to the world class beaches of Thailand and the Pacific islands..
The rooms retain a melancholy beauty. Here, a public telephone lies silent.
An obsolete computer is left to gather dust.
The deserted Oriental Resort Hotel is on Hachijojima Island, south of Tokyo.
Expensive electronic equipment was left in storage when the doors closed.
A room slowly being devoured by plants at the lavish Hachijo Royal Hotel.
The humid climate has resulted in the spread of mould throughout the site.
Staff would have slaved to produce food for thousands of guests.
Even this valuable grand piano was left to moulder.
The hotel underwent several name changes before closing.
What appears to be an abandoned karaoke machine.
This pool room would have once been much sought-after for its ocean views.
