Horrible news. Noble man who went all the way to break the socialist monopoly of medical education in Sri Lanka.

He is the guy who registered the "South Asian Institute of Technology and Management" and later conveniently changed the sign to "South Asian Institute of Technology and Medicine". He was a businessman towing the lines with crook politicos.
A long time ago when he was with the UNP, he had principles - he even stood against JRJ. Later on he crossed (I believe JRJ cancelled his party membership) and joined with the bigger crooks. I am not speaking ill of the dead but that was the story as far as I could recollect.
