First find out what was the smallest Nuclear Power Plant in the world. Then compare with our consumption and you can get the answer whether it was true or false.
Next issue is technology transfer, and at what cost. Though Nuke seems cheap in reality there are other hidden costs involved .
Dumping of nuke waste is costly .
last not least due to environmental conditions eg Tsunami (eg Takushima) or policy decisions (eg Chernobil) there can be nuclear 'accidents' and whole country may get affected for too long.
As far as I know we do not have even IAEA cetified Nuclear Laboratory (UOC was not certified due to some issues and we tried to build one in two locations but there were protests and govt gave up building a Laboratory not Nuke Reactor!! which is needed for generator.....
So this idea which seemed rosy on paper, may not be feasible for pragmatic reasons, yet. (I am not ruling out Nuke power forever)
