JHU leader 'ousted' by the party
Former leader of the Sinhala nationalist Jathika Hela Urumaya (JHU), say that he has been removed without his knowledge.
Ven. Ellawala Medhananda MP says that was not aware of the national convention of the party that replaced him as the leader.
The JHU announced that it has appointed Ven. Omalpe Sobitha Thero as the head of the party after removing Ven. Ellawela Medhanandha Thero from its leadership.
The decision was arrived at the party convention held at the New Town Hall in Colombo on Friday.
In an interview with the BBC Sinhala Service, Ven. Medhanandha said that he was not informed about the party convention.
