Disadvantages of dogs as pets
1. Most of them are destructive. They chew, scratch, dig on or in anything possible.
2. Regular visits to the vet. Rabies shots, worm, etc. They get sick just like people.
3. Boarding. You can't leave them alone for any length of time so you have to have someone watch them if you are going away for an extended time.
4.You have to clean up after them. Yuck!
5. Any pet is time consuming. You need to interact with them. Walk, play, brush them, even when you don't feel much like it.
6. You have to pay for what they destroy, vet bills & boarding. That plus their food, flea collars, heart worm medicine, groomers, toys, bedding, etc.
All of this is something to think about. Once you get a pet and change your mind you can take it to an animal shelter, but if they can't find another home for it they will euthanize it.
