you've been watching too much cnn dude
they've exploited and pillaged the eastern countries for centuries and even now manipulate and impose their will on those countries
Well I refuse that. But it’s you prerogative to suggest that I am a liberal cuck 🙂.

I am well aware of the atrocities of the west, it’s not about what western countries tell me, I have been to some of these authoritarian eastern countries, that’s enough for me to form a set of opinions.

If it is so easy to give Europe their own medicine apropos to human rights, why haven’t anyone done that? What are you going to accuse them of? Of violating freedom of speech, murdering activists in broad daylight, curbing civic individuality of citizens, violating labor rights?

It’s not a question of Europe having a clean slate or them being saints or not. It’s all about how well you cover your bases and having legal consistencies. This is why some countries going to get chewed up while others are not.

Nah they can't just let China have us either.

The difference between UK and China is while UK tries to lead us with a stick China leads us with Carrots.

This is just UK losing. They certainly can use their stick to punish our audacity but that'll just guarantee the Chinese victory.

Answer is in your statement, china want's us to be isolated so no wonder why they support us against UK. In that context, why do we support china by supporting this declaration? Is it in our best interest to get into china vs west fights?

Following carrots is what got us here in the first place.
Not really, our leaders could've used the funds Chinese offered for projects that generated an income rather than showy towers, empty stadiums and airports. I don't think Chinese are to blame for our economic mismanagement... with COVID severing most of our income sources and at the same time increasing expenditures, we have to accept the fact that we're now in need of economic assistance more than ever

Not really, Chinese funded these vanity projects specifically because they knew exactly what they were doing. Do you really think that they did not know that we won't be able to pay back those loans?

That's how chinease debt trap work.

But at the end of the day i agree with you that it's not their fault. Chinese acted on the interests of China (as they should) Our retarded leaders did not do the same for our country.

Well, our economy would still be in disarray even if we weren't indebted this much to Chinese. I mean the disparity between income and expenditure is such it's incomprehensible how the country is still running in a relatively smooth manner

Yes but our debt situation would have been much better. Biggest pressure on our foreign reserves right now is debt repayment. When we are struggling to repay debt our credit rating go down therefore sources of potential debt narrow down while cost of it increasing. It's a vicious cycle.

We are in a deep hole at this moment not because of expenditures. With import bans and limited income we actually can manage it. But servicing debts is not something we can do right now.

For a time yes, pandemic only brought the inevitable sooner.
Then China had us by the balls long before we became a signatory to their resolution on UK human rights. There's really no point in wondering if we should've involved in China vs West fights, is there? We never had a choice in the matter.

You seems to have forgotten what i said. We ended up here by following their carrots. We had a choice, that's before following their carrot.

It's simply wrong to say that we never had a choice.

Yes but by isolating ourselves more and more, where are we heading?

That's why it does change something contrary to your first post.
Well according to your analysis we were unable to service our Chinese debts from the get-go, pandemic or no pandemic - by that logic we gave up our right to decide where we're headed a long time ago so... there's really no point in pondering if we made the right choice because we never had a choice
