එහිදී යතුරුපැදි 24ක් සමග පුද්ගලයින් 24 දෙනෙකු පොලිස් භාරයට ගැණුනි.

යතුරුපැදිකරුවන් සියලු දෙනාගෙන් ප්‍රකාශ සටහන් කරගැනීමෙන් අනතුරුව මුදාහැර ඇති අතර යතුරුපැදි සියල්ල වැඩිදුර පරීක්ෂණ කටයුතු සඳහා පොලිස් භාරයටගෙන තිබේ.

අදාළ යතුරුපැදිවලින් මාර්ගයේ ධාවනය කිරීමට සුදුසු තත්ත්වයේ නියමිත ලියකියවිළි සහිත යතුරුපැදි මුදාහැරීමටත් නීතිවිරෝධී යතුරුපැදි සඳහා නඩු පැවරීමටත් නියමිතය.

පොලිස් මාධ්‍ය ප්‍රකාශක, නියෝජ්‍ය පොලිස්පති අජිත් රෝහණ මහතා පැවසුවේ කොළඹ, ගම්පහ සහ තදාසන්න නගර තුළ රාත්‍රී කාලයේ තරුණයින් විසින් මෙලෙස අධික වේගයෙන් යතුරුපැදි ධාවනය කරන බවට තොරතුරු රැසක් ලැබී ඇති බවය.

මේ අතර පසුගියදා මොරටුව එගොඩඋයන ප්‍රදේශයේදී අධික වේගයෙන් ධාවනය කළ යතුරුපැදියක් ගැබිනි මවක් සහ ඇයගේ දරුවන් දෙදෙනා අනතුරට පත්කිරීම හේතුවෙන් දියණියන් දෙදෙනා මියගොස් තිබුණි.

They'll have to amend the MTA then, AFAIK there are no legal provisions to confiscate a vehicle for over-speeding or reckless driving. They can confiscate bikes over 250CC that are registered under false pretenses but then again they won't be able to auction those because they cant be registered

Well... they can go ahead do the changes for public safety. Idiots need to be controlled. This seems to be a real problem.

PS: But I also think this is partly due to bad parenting too. It's parents attitudes that goes a long way. A lot bring out kids to the world, but needs a primer on raising them. That's the sad reality.

If you do not instill discipline and social responsibility then imbeciles like this guy would be the norm. Children do learn lot of values from their upbringing.
We had motorbikes since a long time, but we were short of this type of idiots then mainly because of the upbringing.

My point was no matter what the damned cc size is... any idiot racing on the road, confiscate the bike. That's only language that they will understand. Did this particular guy who was fined Rs 15,000 a week before this fatal accident learn a lesson? No... and then he went on and killed four.
If there are videos posted in fb, tik-tok go behind them too. The road is not a racing track.
