Ranil Wickramasinghe’s father Esmond Wickramasinghe was a Christian his paternal uncle Lakshman Wickramasinghe was the Bishop of the Church of Sri Lanka. He is a hypocrite to pretend he is a Buddhist for political vote baiting. He once said he wanted to build the Largest Buddhist Dagoba. He is ignorant of some Buddhist matters but, the truths and facts matter little to him. Once at a meeting in Kantale he had referred to relics of the Buddha from Kapilavattu as relics of Venerable Sariputta and Moggallana.Thus, his efforts to reach out to the Sinhala Buddhist masses have been many.
