මම දැක්කා බුකියේ හෙනට ශෙයාර් වෙනවා මහජනයාගේ කිසිවක් හොරකම් නොකළ පක්ෂය කියලා.

හ්ම්... හ්ම්... මහජනයාගේ කිසිම දෙයක් සොරකම් කලේ නෑ. කතාව ඇත්ත. හැබැයි මහජන දේපල, මහජන සේවකයො විශාල ප්‍රමාණයක් විනාශ කලා. කොහොම වුනත් ඒ දවස්වල පක්ෂයක් විදියට කෙලින් වැඩකලා. කීදේ කලා කළ දේ කීව ඒකනිසා විශාල තරුණ ආකර්ශනයක් තිබ්බ. අද වගේ එක එකාගෙ පදේට නටන තත්වයක් එදා තිබ්බෙ නෑ.

I am not sure whether to laugh or cry for your post. I was in grade six, during 1971 jvp uprising, and witnessed the lost of an entire generation.
But I enjoyed the longest school vacation,(April 1971) thanks to Wijeweera and JVP.
Once again 1987-90 uprising, I attend the so called "panthi paha", in fact it's six, including the introduction. There was 5 participants in that class including me, I know three of them but the fourth one was a stranger. At the end of those classes, they (the jvp members) wants to know what's our thoughts. Somehow, I convinced that 3 of known participants not to give them a direct answer, instead just avoid them. But the other guy (even he was a stranger at the beginning, by the end, we were somewhat friends) really hooked in to the jvp ideology. I only know he was killed by government forces, and burn his body near maththegoda camp a couple of years later.
I know almost all politicians in sri lanka are corrupt, but better to be alive with corrupt politicians, than killing ourselves with those extreme socialists .

What do you think Sirimavo Bandaranaike and Ranasinghe Premadasa did? They killed so many youths in the name of controlling JVP. Good that you are alive, not sure it was JVP or Govt left you alive.
