Format Factory became very popular as a freeware video converter since its first release in the year 2008 therefore there is no need to introduce it anew.
I also came to know about that in 2009, so downloaded and began to install it on my computer.
OMG!
Installation became wild and made a fatal error of the system (Blue-screen Error) that prompted me to format the computer at last, because it then shut-down itself and then began to restart itself. Usually that's the nature of the Blue-screen Error.
So, I advise you to be careful when installing the program because it might make some fatal errors of the system, at unexpected moments during the installation, due to its lack of stability.
Regardless of that, Format Factory is a fairly good video converter, as a freeware.
However, I then came to know that there are more stable and feature-rich video converters available as freeware, comparing to Format Factory.
Note that none of these features are supported by Format Factory.

That's true. Format Factory doesn't support DVD burning and Any Video Converter free version too.
But Freemake Video Converter can do it so it's the only freeware video converter that is capable of burning DVDs.
Also, Freemake Video Converter is the only freeware video converter that can upload media contents to YouTube.
