This is especially true when we are in foreign countries as international students. There are more than a few who won't help/guide in any way other than saying how hard it was for them to come this far in life. They want everyone to suffer the same or a worse fate, pass the same or worse trials. Often times Sri Lankans form social groups such as

• People who got asylum or got pr/citizenship through fake marriages and feel inferior to the below group (most of the time doing menial jobs).
• Professionals/expats who feel superior and dislike associating with the above group.
• Former International students who established themselves tend to align themselves with either of the above depending on their associations when they were students.
• Current students who are trying to get into any group
