Not quite new. I have seen worse ones more than a couple of years ago... Just check the Apple store too. Possibly still there. I have listened to Rev Ajahn Brahm once commented if someone threw a Dhammapada into the toilet, the first thing he would do is to call a plumber. He doesn't get upset about it.
I am not saying that it isn't offensive but these things do happen. They are abusing the tolerance of the Buddhists.
