මේකේ ඇත්තක් තියෙනවා, නමුත් මේකේ benefits එක්ක බැලුවම අපේ රටට සෑහෙන්න දෙයක් කරගන්න පුළුවන් දෙයක් වගේ.. livestock, fish feeds/ composting/ bio fuel වලට ගන්න පුළුවන්...

Azolla is fern variety that has nitrogen fixation mechanism. They are very primitive plants but this done by it Anabena. which is an Blue Green Algae a primitive type of organism
Unfortunately this plat got a death knell during 90s due to introduction of a beetle to biological control of Salvenia. This creature eats salvinia but if starved they also eat Azolla. Because of this reason a decision was taken not to introduced this but we know this is SL and some Experts know better!! So now this Algea is not found every where.

Yes it is a Fern thanks for correction. Anabeana that have symbiotic relationship inside the plant is Algea!!

You are spot on. Thanks again. This is how we were taught in ALs (in syllabus, I may still have it!! ) and again in Uni 25 years ago!! A lot has changed. If you check past papers this was a very common question for economic use of Blue Green Algea in AL paper for Plant Sc (Botany) (first lesson in AL if I'm not mistaken). Time has changed things!! I have forgotten , too.
This was classified as blue green algea due to its photosynthesis and also shape at that time.
