It is time for everybody to understand the reality. Fly overs will not solve our problem of traffic . It is not even high ways. These are all temporary. See other countries. The problem lies with too many vehicles on the road due to lack of efficient public transport . How many commuters are transported from underground trains in major cities compared with other modes over the land. This is the way forward. Our fly overs were designed about 30 years ago by our engineers for few congested junctions. It was a solution at that time not now. We are doing things that should have done 30 years ago.
Has fly over in Nugegoda eased the traffic in High Legel during peak hours ? Since the bulk of traffic is through High Level it will not . Same applies to Rajagiriya even if this was constructed from Borella as it was planned initially. What would be the cost in that event ? Think logically . Most of the traffic from Borella also go pall Rajagiriya, so how can a fly over ease traffic in peak time.
