Russia has over 5800 nuclear warheads. Most effective air defense in the world is Iron Dome. it has 98% success rate against conventional missiles and around 70% mid-hypersonis missiles (at 5-10 mach).

so in essence No NATO will never engage with Russia, and Russia never dares to attack NATO.

Yeah essentially, no major nuclear power can be destroyed without turning world into a wasteland.

Iron dome can't defend against ICBM's though. It's designed to intercept "dumb" rockets not ICBMs. Probably the best anti-ballistic missile systems are US Ground-Based Midcourse Defense and Aegis BMD. Even they have success rate around 60% and can be easily saturated by a large attack.

Russia on the other hand would be fucked anyway given how their population is concentrated on few cities.

So yeah no one is dumb enough to start a nuclear war.
