I am not going to say his name... but I will give you enough details to track the guy down. He was the head of PSD security of Sirimao B.... He's 6 ft 7 inches tall. Had a top beard, Renowned for killing a man infront of Sirimao with a single punch to the face, Army STF, Home town in Kegalle. He died of Pancreas Cancer.

I believe you have enough info to find the exact guy I am referring to if you want...

I know PERSONALLY that he killed in excess of 200+ teenagers and young adults during the 86 & 89 insurgency. His signature was either twisting their necks slowly till their necks broke or smash their faces in with his boots while on they are tied to the floor. He used to have a shaving-kit bag full of Nails he had pulled out of alleged JVP carders... Each nail represented one man...and it had hundreds.

    True.. that I accept !

I have my personal theory on why we dont have serial killers in Sri Lanka... and it doesnt have ANYTHING to do with Buddhism or being stupid at all.

Explain it. We would like to know

    well..let's see.

can I just gist it? ... it would take too much time to actually make a proper sensing case on my view of it. So on a short opening of my observing methodology, let me gist the rest of my point of view.

    How I know ----

I have worked with a lot of people in a lot of countries and that included a lot of criminals of varying degrees as well. This includes Sri Lankan & other Third world countries to Developed Nations...... From petty crimes to death-row. Specially the cases that comes across UNHRC are crazy of a different degree. I have met, spent considerable time with them and sometimes solved or sometimes lost certain arguments and cases with it.

    My point ----

Why Sri Lankan's dont have Serial Killers.

    1. Family structure - We dont' abandon our kith & kin. We always make it a point to check up with them and keep in track with them personally or otherwise.

    2. Father figures - As a country, 99.9% of our kids grow up with a sensible father figure and of course an IRON FIST of control over our lives. Our kids dont get the chance to run about and kill cats and dogs to get their first taste of kills.

    3. Small country - massively interesting point .....Everyone knows everyone somehow. No one can just vanish from Colombo and appear in Badulla without people noticing.

    4. No idle time - What I have noticed in many other countries where they have serial killers are that they have idle time. Ours is a country that runs on the motto that "if you want to eat, you need to work".... No one provides for us in way of government dolls or any such things.

    5. Police - Seriously... compared to even countries like USA or UK, I would anytime put my own profession on line to stand behind the skills and expertise of the Sri Lankan police (Only when they are not influenced by politics) The cops in SL are like fucking bloodhounds on a fresh trail., they will get you... trust me !

    6. WAR & Insurgencies - The war and the insurgencies have given an outlet for many of the monsters to get their own way. This is another very important factor but it would take me whole 2-3 pages to explain why..

    ----------------------------

But if my estimates are to be trusted.... and if this country to go on without any WAR or insurgency .... I would say we will have our own Serial Killers in another 10 years time.

We just have to wait till the POST 2006 generation to turn into adults.
